AN ORDINANCE DIRECTING THE TAX ASSESSOR.AND COLLECTOR
TO ACCEPT THE AMOUNT OF ANY TAX THAT MAY HAVE BECOME DELINQUENT
BEFORE AUGUST 1st, 1934, WITHOUT COLLECTING PENALTY AND.INTEREST,
AND ISSUE REGULAR DELINQUENT RECEIPT THEREFOR PROVIDED SAID PAY

MENT IS MADE ON OR BEFORE MARCH 15th, 1935, DIRECTING THE TAX
ASSESSOR AND COLLECTOR TO ISSUE TAX CERTIFICATES SHOWING PAYMENT
OF TAXES FOR ANY YEARS FOR WHICH TAXES ARE PAID IN ACCORDANCE
HEREWITH AND PROVIDING SAID CERTIFICATE SHALL CONTAIN CERTAIN
PROVISIONS9 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY..
BE IT ORDAINED 'BY- THE, CITY COPJMISSION OF' THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:

That the City Tax Assessor and Collector is hereby
costs
directed to accept the -amount � o.f•• -taxes wi'thout/penalty and interest
assessed against any property,that may have become delinquent be-
fore August 1st, 1934; and issue the usual delinquent tax receipt
therefor, provided payment is made on or before March 15, 1935.
Section. 2.
That the City Tax Assessor and Collector is hereby
directed to issue the usual tax certificate showing delinquent
taxes paid in full for any year paid in accordance with this ordi-
nance, but said'tax certificate, in addition to the usual certif-
icate, shall also contain the words "penalty and interest released
by Act of Legislature,.Fourth Called Session of the 43rd Leg-
islature,'being House -Bill Number 7"..
The fact that not sufficient taxes are being collected
by the -Tax Assessor and Collector to meet the.budget, creates an
imperative public emergency necessitating the suspension of the
rule requiring ordinances to,be read on three separate days before
final passage; wherefore, such rule is hereby suspended and this
ordinance shall be in 'full force and effect from and after its
passage..
Passed by an affirmative vote of all members of the City
Commission, this the 11th day of December, A. D..1934.
