CHANGING THE NAME OF ti"IILSON STREET TO ROYAL STREET,
SAME BEING A SHORT STREET BET64FEN THE TNEST LIRA' OF AVENUE
F. AND THE EAST LINE OF BLANCHETTE STREET, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
Whereas, Ogden Johnson, Postmaster of the City of
Beaumont, has asked that the name of Wilson Street, a short
street only a little more than a block long, be changed to
Royal Street.
Whereas, This street, called Wilson Street, is
practically a continuation of Royal Street, there being only
one house on it, being known as both 245 and 1945.
Whereas There is a Wilson Street in Pinecrest
Addition to the �ity of Beaumont, which is several blocks
long and the mail 3t often misthrown, causing confusion and
delay.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C Uff,1ISS ION OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT :
That the name of Wilson Street in the City of Beau-
mont, .between the West line of Avenue F. and the East line
of Blanchette Street, be, and it is, hereby chancred to Royal,
and from and After the passage of this ordinance the name
of said street shall be Royal.
The fact that there are two Wilson Streets in the
City of Beaumont,. one a continuation of Royal Street and one
in Pinecrest Addition, and the .fact that constant confusion
arises_ in the delivery of mail addressed to residents on
the tl-ro Wilson Streets, creates an imperative public necessity,
necessitating; the suspension of the rule requiring that all
ordinances be read on three (3) separate days before their
passaCeI said rule is therefore hereby suspended and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage.
Passed by an affirmative vote of all members -of the
City Conmission, this the 2nd day of April, A. D. 1935.
