Hon. Mayor and City Council,
City of Beaumont, Texas.
—Ron Sirs_ =_The Board of .School _Trustees of the Beaumont City Schools,_—_—
through the undersigned special committee appointed in the interests of
street car half -fare for the school children of Beaumont going to and
from school, respectfully request your honorable body to pass an ordinance
providing for half -fare for school children on the cars of the Beaumont
Traction Company as alloyed by the New -Charter of the City.of Beaumont
under s edt ion
The present five cent fare for school children, though not apparently
burdensome, is, never the less, quite 'burdensome to many families.
We further believe that the increased patronage of the Beaumont Trac-
tion Company would inure to its financial advantage, and also secure a
more generous support of said Company by the grateful citizenship of
Beaumont._
