Location:
Event 1: High Rise Pack Carry
At the signal to begin the evolution, the firefighter picks up and shoulders one 50
foot section of a 1.75" high rise pack and carries it to the top floor of the drill
tower, and then drops the hose in a designated area.
Event 2: Hose Hoist
From the top floor of the drill tower standing in a designated area the firefighter
pulls a rope in a hand -over -hand fashion to hoist one 50 foot section of 2.5" hose
over the balcony and places it on the floor in the designated area. The firefighter
then proceeds down the stairs and outside, walking to the forcible entry prop.
Event 3: Force Entry
The firefighter utilizes a 10 pound sledgehammer to hit the forcible entry prop
until the buzzer sounds. After the buzzer sounds the firefighter places the
sledgehammer in the designated area and advances to the hose advance event.
Event 4: Hose Advance
The firefighter walks to a charged section of 1.75 inch hose, picks up the nozzle
and places it over his/her shoulder, then drags the hose 100 feet until the nozzle
passes a line marked by traffic cones. Once the nozzle passes the line the
firefighter opens the nozzle to show water. The nozzle is then closed and is
placed on the ground. If the nozzle is not closed before it touches the ground the
participant must go back and shut down the nozzle. The participant advances to
the victim rescue event.
Event 5: Victim Rescue
The firefighter stands at the manikins head, and grabs the drag harness with both
hands. The firefighter then walks backwards, moving the manikin 100 feet,
passing a line marked with traffic cones. If the firefighter looses his/her grip, falls,

trips etc., he/she will reset his/her grip and continue until the manikin crosses the
100 foot mark.
Repeat Events 1-5:
Once the firefighter drags the manikin across the 100 foot mark, he/she will walk
back to Event 1 and start the evolution over. He/she will continue until the low
pressure alarm activates, or he/she is too physically exhausted, or has symptoms
and is unable to continue. At this time the assessment will conclude and the time
will be documented.
The firefighter will proceed to the rest and rehabilitation area, where his/her
condition will be monitored for a minimum of 20 minutes post -assessment.
