Dr. I.K. Moorhouse Photographs, circa 1950s -1970s
DESCRIPTION
Dr. I.K. Moorhouse was a native of Ord, Nebraska, and lived in Beaumont from 1919 until his death in
1972. He went to medical school at the Los Angeles College of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. 1. K. Moorhouse was an osteopath in private practice for over fifty years in Beaumont and was also an
amateur photographer.
This collection contains over 3 cubic feet of negatives, photographs, and slides taken mostly by Dr. I.K.
Moorhouse covering such topics as downtown Beaumont, prominent homes and businesses, the Neches
River Festival, and the South Texas State Fair. There are also some photographs of Pon Arthur. Most of
the photographs were taken during the time period spanning 1950 to 1970.
