Joseph Bunn Papers, 1867-1895
DESCRIPTION
Joseph Bunn was an Englishman who settled in Southeast Texas in the 1840s. He owned land title for an
area in Orange County named Bunn's Bluff and started a post office there in 1854. By the 1880s he had a
store in the area. This small collection contains some biographical notes on Joseph Bunn,
correspondence, receipts from local businesses in Beaumont and Galveston, Joseph Bunn's account book
covering the years 1878-1883 and his receipt book covering the years 1872-1874.
