The Paul Anger Collection, 1954-1971
DESCRIPTION
This collection contains materials pertaining to the removal of the Southern Pacific Railway
Company's Bridge. This collection was donated by Mr. Paul Anger, a gentleman who was very
instrumental in advising Beaumont's mayor and city council of legal procedures that were used
in bridge removal.
This collection contains many letters written between 1954 and 1971. Much of the
correspondence consists of business letters, legal papers, special reports, business meetings and
financial booklets. Included in this collection are several photographs of the work sites before
and after the bridge removal. Mr. Paul Anger held a high profile with members of Beaumont
City Council and the Mayor. He was experienced in negotiating big city contracts.
