Plummer was the administrative secretary of that local during and
after World War II. The ladies auxiliary were staunch supporters
of Ben Stewart, an activist in working for rights for the black
minority working men at the Mobil Refinery. Stewart was a pioneer
member and president of the local from 1936-1999; it was through
his persistent and uncompromising efforts that the black
employees prevailed in securing a charter of their own. The

clipping and official memorabilia.
