DESCRIPTION
This collection contains documentation from the National
Register of Historic American Buildings Surveys of the Tyrrell Farm
Complex in Jefferson County, Texas. Captain William Casper Tyrrell
purchased two (2) tracks of land from John N. Broocks, Jr. on March
29, 1898, for the sum of $25,316.55 in cash and notes for the
purchase of promoting suburban properties for his reality company
and in addition to his planning for an intensive farming and fruit
growing enterprise.
The collection has an excellent biographical/historical
description in the NABS NO. TX -3369 booklet located in folder one
(1). The remainder of the collection consists of the asymmetrical
plan of the complex consisting of four (4) pages, eighteen (18)
pages of field notes and eighteen (18) black and white photographs
of the farm complex.
