Rudolph C. Miller Papers, 1909-1973
DESCRIPTION
Rudolph Charles (R.C.) Miller was a prominent businessmen in Jefferson County. A native of Navasota,
Texas, he moved to Beaumont in 1904 to open a feed business with Boone Kirk called the Kirk -Miller -
Josey Feed Co. After Kirk left, the company became Josey -Miller Co. R.C. Miller was also involved in a
number of civic projects including serving on the Board of Trustees at Temple Emanuel when the
synagogue was built in 1923. The R.C. Miller Library building on Dowlen Road was donated to the city
of Beaumont by R.C. Miller's family.
This small collection of papers by and about R.C. Miller contains correspondence, a scrapbook with
newspaper clippings, and handwritten notes on properties.
