He studied music (piano and organ) in Los Angeles and at Lamar University. Finally, after being accepted in 1940, he moved on to the prestigious Julliard School of music in New York. In 1941, Private Sacker served at Moore Field Base, McAllen, Texas, for two years upon which he returned to Beaumont. For 25 years, he operated Sacker Studios in Beaumont. The collection of scrapbooks is comprised predominately of music programs, newspaper clippings and over sixty-five black and white photographs from his stay at the Base. Materials included within the two volumes of scrapbooks cover young Al Sacker's talented life from the age of 17 to 25, inclusive within the time periods of 1936-1944. No restrictions apply.
