They were Sewell and Gladys Panned, Alice Kent, and Ethel Rowzee. Officers elected at that time were Mrs. W. Frank Wilson, President; Mrs. Lena Milan, Vice-president; Miss Gladys Panned, Secretary, and Mrs. W.G. Reeves, Treasurer. The Hazel Panned Scholarship Fund, established in the Beaumont community (1940's), has aided scores of talented music students at Lamar University for almost three decades. American, Texan, and Beaumont composers have been featured on the club's programs throughout fifty years. This collection contains 9 volumes of scrapbooks produced during the period of 1921-1972. They are arranged chronologically by year. The clubs scrapbooks tell the story through a collection of newspaper clippings, yearbooks, programs, correspondence, and convention notices. Over 70 photographs are included within the 9 volumes with 60 found within the 50th Golden Anniversary volume. Also included within the collection is a scrapbook dedicated primarily to the Beaumont Golden Deeds Award, with special emphasis on the 5th winner of the award, Dr. Lena Milan. This particular volume salutes the numerous groups which had been formed since the inception of the Music Study Club. See also AC -013 and AC -044. No restrictions apply.
