The firefighter shall demonstrate how to properly inspect and complete a thorough
operational check of a Vetter Bag System.

Given the appropriate rescue tools, you will demonstrate the following evolutions which
may be required to extricate an entrapped victim of a motor vehicle accident:
• Perform a Vetter Bag Equipment Inspection
• Perform a Vetter Bag Operational Check
You will begin on my instruction to start. The skill will end when you state to me you
have completed all of the identified steps. Do you understand these instructions?

The firefighter shall accomplish the skill wearing “FULL PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
FOR STRUCTURAL FIREFIGHTERS” as required by the Texas Commission on Fire
Protection to include: helmet, gloves, coat, trousers, and boots. The firefighter is not required to
wear an SCBA or hood.
The firefighter will not be allowed to review the performance steps at the time of testing.
