Communicating the Status of the Planned Response

I. Objective
Given two scenarios involving hazardous materials/WMD incidents, including the
incident action plan, the operations level responder shall communicate the status of the planned
response through the normal chain of command and shall meet the following requirements:
A. Identify the methods for communicating the status of the planned response
through the normal chain of command.
B. Identify the methods for immediate notification of the incident commander and
other response personnel about critical emergency conditions at the incident.
II. Instructions – Procedures for Achieving the Objective
Given scenarios involving hazardous materials/WMD incidents, including the incident
action plan, you shall communicate the status of the planned response through the normal chain
of command and identify the methods for immediate notification of the incident commander and
other response personnel about critical emergency conditions at the incident. You will begin on
my instruction to start. The skill will end when you state to me that you have completed all of the
identified steps. Do you understand these instructions?
III. Examiner’s Note
The responder will not be allowed to review the performance steps at the time of testing.
The responder must participate in at least two scenario evolutions.
