The firefighter, using two 25’ sections of 2-1/2” fire hose, 100’ of 5” hose and the 5”
Storz to 2-½” wye appliance, shall demonstrate the proper procedure for a one firefighter
connection method to the standpipe/sprinkler FDC. The firefighter shall be given a maximum of
four (4) minutes to complete the skill.

While wearing full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA),
you shall demonstrate the one-firefighter method of connecting the 5” Storz to 2-½” wye adaptor
and 5” hose from the apparatus to the standpipe/sprinkler FDC. You will have a maximum time
limit to complete this skill of four (4) minutes. You will begin on my instruction to start. The
skill will end when you state to me that you have completed the identified steps. Do you
understand these instructions?

The firefighter will not be allowed to review the performance steps at the time of testing.

C. Assorted spanners/wrenches to complete the task
D. 100’ of 5” hose
Note: The firefighter shall accomplish the skill wearing “FULL PROTECTIVE CLOTHING FOR
STRUCTURAL FIREFIGHTER” as required by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection to
include helmet, coat, boots, hood, and trousers. Gloves shall be optional. Firefighter will not don
face piece or hood.
