The firefighter shall connect two 2-½” hose lines from a pumper apparatus to a fire
department connection of a standpipe or automatic sprinkler system. The firefighter shall stat the
recommended pump pressure for an automatic sprinkler and standpipe system.

You shall connect two 2-½” hose lines from a pumper apparatus to a fire department
connection of a standpipe or automatic sprinkler system. You shall verbalize to the evaluator the
recommended pump pressure for an automatic sprinkler and standpipe system. You will begin on
my instruction to start. The skill will end when you state to me that you have completed all of the
identified steps. Do you understand these instructions?

A. The firefighter will not be allowed to review the performance steps at the time of
testing.
B. This skill may be accomplished by substituting a siamese appliance for a fire
department connection

A. Fire Department Connection
B. 2 sections – 2 ½” fire hose
C. Spanner wrenches
D. Pumper apparatus
Note: The firefighter shall accomplish the skill wearing “FULL PROTECTIVE
CLOTHING FOR STRUCTURAL FIREFIGHTER”as required by the Texas Commission
on Fire Protection to include helmet, coat, boots, and trousers. Gloves shall be optional.
Firefighter will not don face piece or hood.
