The firefighter shall demonstrate the procedures for cleaning and inspecting salvage
covers. The firefighter shall accomplish the skill in five (5) minutes or less.

Given a salvage cover and the appropriate cleaning equipment, you will verbalize the
proper technique for inspecting the cover for damage and for cleaning the cover. Actual cleaning
does not need to occur for this evaluation. You have five (5) minutes to complete this skill. You
will begin on my instruction to start. The skill will end when you state to me that you have
completed all of the identified steps. Do you understand these instructions?
