The firefighter will select from an assortment of materials provided for covering an
opening in a structure. The firefighter will properly cover the identified opening to secure the
structure.

You will select the appropriate material(s) from an assortment of materials provided and
properly cover the openings to secure the identified structure. You will begin on my instruction
to start. The skill will end when you state to me that you have completed all of the identified
steps. Do you understand these instructions?

Note: The firefighter shall accomplish the skills wearing “FULL PROTECTIVE
CLOTHING FOR STRUCTURAL FIREFIGHTER” as required by the Texas Commission
on Fire Protection to include helmet, gloves, coat, trousers, boots, and eye protection.
Firefighter will not be required to wear SCBA.
