The firefighters shall force entry into a structure, given personal protective equipment,
tools, and an assignment, so that tools are used as designed, the barrier is removed, and the
opening is in a safe condition and ready for entry.

You will be given a scenario to force entry into a structure. You will be wearing full
personal protective equipment, and given assortment of tools. You will remove barriers and
make the opening safe and ready for entry. You will begin on my instruction to start. The skill
will end when you state to me that you have completed all of the indentified steps. Do you
understand these instructions?

NOTE: The firefighter shall accomplish the skills wearing “FULL PROTECTIVE
CLOTHING FOR STRUCTURAL FIREFIGHTERS” as required by the Texas
Commission on Fire Protection to include helmet, gloves, coat, trousers, boots, and
SCBA.
