HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 11-016 ORDINANCE NO.11-016 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING A PORTION OF CHEEK STREET AND THE REMAINDER OF ALABAMA STREET EAST OF UNIVERSITY DRIVE IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT a portion of Cheek Street and the remainder of Alabama Street east of University Drive, as described in Exhibit "A" and shown on Exhibit "B," attached hereto, be and the same is hereby vacated and abandoned subject to the following conditions: • The entire abandoned rights-of-way shall be retained as access and utility easements. • No appurtenances shall be built within the abandoned rights-of-way. • Any gates installed across the access easements shall be approved by the City of Beaumont Fire Department. NL4or Becky Ames - i w LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR ORDINANCE PURPOSES Cheek Street-Being a 933.70'portion of Cheek Street beginning at the north right of way line of the abandoned Georgia Street and continuing in a southerly direction a distance of 933.70'to the northeast property line of the University Drive Condominiums (Vol. 2,Pg. 159-160, CRJC), City of Beaumont,Jefferson County,Texas,containing 1.28 acres,more or less. Alabama Avenue-Being a 0.2324 acre tract or parcel of land situated in the J.W.Bullock Survey,Abstract No. 7,Jefferson County,Texas and being a portion of the right of way of Alabama Avenue(based on a width of 60 feet),and also being a portion of a 20 feet wide formerly unnamed road and being out of and part of that certain called 10,455.2 square feet tract of land as described in a deed from B.
