WHEREAS, City Council approved Resolution No. 06-073 authorizing the City
Manager to apply for and receive funding in the amount of $49,969.62 through the
Department of Homeland Buffer Zone Protection Plan Program (BZPP)to provide a buffer
zone protection plan for Arkema Chemical; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Homeland Security has notified the City that up to
$100,000 in additional funding to purchase law enforcement equipment is available;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager is hereby authorized to receive additional funding up to $100,000
through the Department of Homeland Buffer Zone Protection Plan Program to purchase
law enforcement equipment.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 22nd day of
May, 2007.
