HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 06-061 ORDINANCE NO. 06-061 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 05-004 GRANTING A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT TO ALLOW A LAUNDROMAT IN AN RCR(RESIDENTIAL CONSERVATION AND REVITALIZATION) DISTRICT LOCATED AT 4639 HIGHLAND, IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY,TEXAS,TO ALLOW AN ADDITIONAL 780 SQ. FT. [1,870 SQ. FT. TOTAL] OF SPACE TO BE ADDED TO THE REAR OF THE LAUNDROMAT, DEMOLITION OF AN EXISTING 2-STORY GARAGE APARTMENT AND AN ADDITIONAL FIVE (5) PARKING SPACES. WHEREAS, the City Council approved Ordinance No. 05-004 on January 4, 2005 granting a Specific Use Permit to Johnny Huynh to allow a laundromat in an RCR (Residential Conservation and Revitalization) District located at 4639 Highland, being Lot 3, Block 1, Eisentraut Addition,City of Beaumont,Jefferson County,Texas,containing 0.75 acres, more or less, as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and, WHEREAS, Johnny Huyuh has applied for an amendment to the Specific Use Permit to allow an additional 780 sq. ft. [1,870 sq. ft. total] of space to be added to the rear of the laundromat,demolition of an existing 2-story garage apartment and an additional five (5) parking spaces; and, WHEREAS,the City Council is of the opinion that the issuance of such amendment to the specific use permit is in the best interest of the City of Beaumont and its citizens, subject to the hereinafter described conditions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. That an amendment to a specific use permit to allow an additional 780 sq. ft. [1,870 sq. ft. total] of space to be added to the rear of the laundromat, demolition of an existing 2- story garage apartment and an additional five (5) parking spaces in an RCR (Residential Conservation and Revitalization) District located at 4639 Highland Avenue, being Lot 3, Block 1, Eisentraut Addition, City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, containing 0.75 acres, more or less, as described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes, is hereby granted to Johnny Huynh, his legal representatives, successors and assigns. Section 2. That the specific use permit as amended herein is expressly issued for and in accordance with each particular and detail of the site plan attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and made a part hereof for all purposes. Section 3. Notwithstanding the site plan attached hereto, the use of the property herein above described shall be in all other respects subject to all of the applicable regulations contained in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, as amended.
