BE TT REMEMBERED that the City Council of the City of Beaumont , Texas ,
met in regular session this the 24th day of July , 1984 , with the fol-
lowing present :

The Invocation was given by the Reverend Amos Landry , East Mount Olive
Baptist Church .

The following Consent Agenda items were considered :
Approval of the Minutes of the regular City Council session held July 17 ,
1984 ;
Resolution 84-262 creating an Indigent Health Care Task Force consisting
of two (2) elected representatiyes duly appointed from each governmental
entity of Beaumont , Port Arthur , Nederland , Port Neches , Groves and Jef-
ferson County for the establishment Of a mechanism to ensure the delivery
of appropriate coordinated health care services to the indigent of Jef-
ferson County ;
Resolution 84-263 authorizing execution of a 6-month contract for the
purchase of approximately 4 , 000 tons of oyster shell from Radcliff
Materials at $13 . 75 per ton ;
Resolution 84-264 authorizing purchase of approximately 250 pairs of
structural firefighting gloves from Claude Wright of Houston at $26 . 50
per pair ;
Resolution 84--265 authorizing John P. Gorman and Claudie D. Hawkins as
signatories on the Civic Center account at Texas Commerce Bank - Beaumont ;
and
Resolution 84-266 reappointing Bradley Viatnr to the Planning and Zoning
Commission , term expiring July 31 , 1986; and appointing Van Daniels to
the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee , term expiring June 30 , 1985;
Zenobia Bush to the CDBG Citizens Advisory Committee , term eypinjVg "sy
31 , 1986 ; Bruce Johnson to the Transit Advisory Committee , tery expiring
June 30, 1986 ; and the Reverend R. D . Carrington to the Clean ComTonitv
Commission , term expiring September 30 , 1986
The Consent Agenda was approved on a motion made by Councilman Samuel and
seconded by Councilman Turner .

Ordinance No . 84-94 abandoning Ninth Street from 20 feet south of Wash-
ington Boulevard south for 120 feet , subject to the retention of the south
10 feet as a general utility easement (requested by Mrs - Willie Ray Smith)

City of Bevil Oaks was deferred to the Workshop scheduled for July 31 ,
1984 ; for further discussion ,

Resolution 84--267 accepting the Corley Street TIP Project as complete
and authorizing final payment to the contractor , Bo-Mac Contractors
at $50,426. 99 (total project .- $1 , 005,452 . 25) was approved on a motion
made by Councilman Deshotel and seconded by Councilman Brumley.

Resolution 84-268 accepting the College Street. TIP Project , Phase I , as
complete and authorizing final payment to the contractor , Teal Contract-
ing Company, at $43 , 188 . 35 (contract total $58 , 255. 90, 1 . 8% less than
the original bid amount ) was approved on a motion made by Councilman
Deshoteland seconded by Councilman Samuel .
