Ordinance No. 84-21 granting a Specific Use Permit to establish an auto-
mobile re_oa.ir and paint and body shop in a GC-MD (General Commercial -
Multiple Dwelling) district at 745 Lindberg (requested by Gerald R. Con-
don) was considered:
ORDINANCE NO. 84-21
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE ISSUING A SPECIFIC USE
PERMIT FOR AN AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR AND PAINT
AND BODY SHOP AT 745 LINDBERG.
Mr. Jesse Torres, Asst . Planning Director, told Council that "after exam-
ing the eight conditions necessary for approval of the Specific Use Permit,
the staff recommended approval of the request with the installation of a
10-foot landscape buffer and an eight-foot privacy fence along the northern
property line. You will note that his property has GC-MD zoning to its
south and it is boarded on the north by the R-3 district which at a future
date would be a target of a rezoning study by the staff . However, due to
the ordinance requirements, the staff made that recommendation to the Plan-
ning Commission. The Commission thereafter made a recommendation for ap-
proval of the request with the installation of the 10-foot landscape buffer
and an eight-foot privacy fence on that same northern property line by a
vote of 5 to 1 . All of the other conditions for the approval of the Speci-
fic Use Permit had been satisfied by the applicant . "
Councilman Cox made a motion to approve the ordinance as recommended by
the Planning Commission with the exception of the "North property line
fence. " Councilman Deshotel seconded the motion with the amendment .
