PUBLIC HEARING
ANNEXATION
Mr. Jim Thompson, Administrative Assistant to the City Manager, gave a des-
cription of five areas to be included in the annexation.
In answer to a question from Councilman Evans as to why consideration was not
given to taking in more property in this annexation, Attorney Kenneth Wall
responded that these five areas were the only areas requested and that the
City Council could, at any time, pass another ordinance to include additional
property.
Councilman Williams asked if we have a plan on annexation. Planning Director
John Anderson answered that his department was not involved in the areas be-
ing annexed today since the areas (schools, etc . ) requested to be annexed but
that they will have a definitive recommendation in the near future; the plan
is not ready yet .
Councilwoman McGinnis stated that it is difficult to decide on areas to be
annexed until a master plan is ready.
Mr. Anderson told the Council that today' s annexation is 75 square miles, some
not yet developed.
