WHEREAS, on December 16, 2003, the City Council of the City of Beaumont,
Texas, passed Resolution No. 03-271 awarding a contract to Craig Sheffield &Austin, Inc.
in the amount of $11,029,000 for the Water Treatment Plant14 Million Gallons per Day
(MGD) Expansion and Miscellaneous Improvements Project; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 in the amount of$1,377,912.01 is required for
extra work to install two additional filter units with all the related appurtenances for a
complete operational system, modify the fill beneath the chemical storage, clean debris in
the chemical storage area and change the existing piping in the chemical building thereby
increasing the contract amount to $12,406,912.01.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to execute Change Order No.
1 to the Water Treatment Plant 14 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) Expansion and
Miscellaneous Improvements Project in the amount of $1,377,912.01 for extra work to
install two additional filter units with all the related appurtenances for a complete
operational system, modify the fill beneath the chemical storage, clean debris in the
chemical storage area and change the existing piping in the chemical building increasing
the contract amount to $12,406,912.01.
