WHEREAS,the City of Beaumont,in cooperation with the Texas Department
of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration, is planning
improvements to West Lucas Drive from Phelan Boulevard to Delaware Street; and,
WHEREAS, the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property
Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, as amended, ensures that persons displaced as a
result of an improvement project are treated fairly, consistently, and equitably so
that such persons will not suffer disproportionate injuries as a result of projects
designed for the benefit of the public as a whole; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Emily Clara Pankey is being displaced as a result of this
project and qualify for relocation assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to make payment to Mrs.
Emily Clara Pankey, displaced due to the improvements to West Lucas Drive from
Phelan Boulevard to Delaware Street, in the amount of $6,617.06.
