RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to approve the Final 1993 CDBG
Statement of Objectives and Projected Use of Funds attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and
apply for, accept and spend 1993 CDBG funds.

Proposed Final Statement of Objectives
and
Projected Use of Funds
HOUSING $1,487,000
Single Family Housing Rehabilitation $500,000
Funds will be used for the rehabilitation
of approximately 22 owner occupied single
family units. Funds will also be used to
provide service delivery costs.
Multi Family Housing Rehabilitation $700,000
Funds will be used for the rehabilitation of
multi-family units for low and moderate income,
elderly or handicapped persons. Funds will
also be used to provide service delivery costs.
Dick Dowling Area Housing Development Demonstration Project $287,000
Funds will be used to purchase properties
for housing, parks and business related
redevelopment purposes. Funds will also
be used to prepare a redevelopment master
plan for the neighborhood, for relocation
expenses and for clearance and demolition
costs.
PUBLIC FACILrUEES AND IMPROVEMENTS $400,000
Northend Recreation Center
Funds will be used to construct an approxi-
mately 20,000 square foot recreation facility
in census tract 9 on property known as Magnolia
Park. The $400,000 would represent partial
funding for the project. The total cost of the
Recreation Center is estimated at $2,000,000.
The remaining cost of the project would be paid
from future CDBG allocations.

SPECIAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES $100,000
Small Business Revolving Loan Fund
Funds will be used to recapitalize the Small
Business Revolving Loan Fund. This fund provides
direct economic assistance, in the form of a
loan, to small businesses to support job creation
and retention.
ADMINISTRATION $370,000
Funds will cover personnel and operating expenses
for 8 existing positions, to administer the CDBG
program and other HUD programs including the HOME
program and McKinney Grant programs.
