WHEREAS, on October 6, 1992, the City Manager was authorized to accept a grant
in the amount of $110,000.00 from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency for
conducting a study of methods to control pollutants contained in stormwater runoff
emanating from construction sites; and,
WHEREAS, funds provided by the E. P. A. grant allow $30,000.00 for the
construction and maintenance of control devices to be utilized in this study; and,
WHEREAS, on February 2, 1993, the City Council of the City of Beaumont awarded
a contract in the amount of$371,105.00 to APAC-Texas, Inc.for the Lafin Landfill Proposed
Street Project; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 resulted in a total contract amount of$326,842.00;
and,
WHEREAS, the City will use the construction of the proposed Lafin Landfill
Roadway Project for this study; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 has been prepared for the Lafin Landfill Roadway
Project in an amount not to exceed $30,000.00 to utilize funds provided by the E. P. A. for
the construction and maintenance of control devices;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 2 for
the Lafin Landfill Proposed Street Project to increase the contract amount by $30,000.00 in
order to utilize E. P. A. funds for the construction and maintenance of control devices for
a stormwater study, there by increasing the total contract to $356,842.00.
