- �a - 2 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the City Council desires to support the nation's armed forces and particularly City employees called to active duty in the reserves and National Guard, and, WHEREAS, in order to ease the transition for employees called to active duty, the Council on September 4, 1990, adopted a 90- day policy for continuation of salary and insurance benefits, and, WHEREAS, the policy was intended to make the employees "whole" for a 90-day period by compensating them for the difference between their salaries with the City and their lower military service pay and continuing insurance coverage for their dependents on the same basis as when they were actively employed by the City, and, WHEREAS, the Council wishes to continue the assistance provided by this policy, which has expired, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT it shall be the policy of the City of Beaumont that all City employees called to active duty in the reserves or National Guard shall be compensated for the difference between their service pay and their salary with the City for a period of 90 calendar days and that insurance coverage for their dependents shall be continued for 90 calendar days on the same basis as when they were actively employed by the City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, in this policy shall continue in effect until rescinded. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the day of �©„z1 �� , 1990. - Mayor -
