R E S O L U T I O N
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to approve
the request of the Beaumont Yacht Club for deferral of six
monthly payments in the amount of $4,975.85 each owed to the City
under its management and concessions contract for the City-owned
marina conditional upon the Club's constructing a proposed repair
project for the boat launching ramps at the marina as described
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto.

BOAT LAUNCH RAMP RECONSTRUCTION
SPECIFICATIONS
March 8, 1990
COFFERDAM CONSTRUCTION
Construct Cofferdam and De-water - construct a water
tight cofferdam across slip (approximately 125' in
length) . Cofferdam shall be located so as to provide
ample working space for construction of the launch
ramp.

the cofferdam. The work area shall be kept
de-watered during all construction and initial cure
of concrete.
DEMOLITION OF EXISTING DAMAGED AREAS OF LAUNCH RAMP
Contractor to inspect existing ramp and note damaged
areas. Demolition of the existing damaged areas of
ramp are to be saw cut and broken on a line 12" above
the highest damage found. Any existing reinforcing
steel is to be left extending 24" beyond the break
line. The broken concrete sections of the existing
ramp may be broken into smaller pieces and used in
combination with heavy clay to fill wash out holes at
the end of the existing launch ramp. Otherwise the
broken concrete is to be removed from the site and
disposed of by the contractor. Remove five existing
walkways between ramps (see Sheet 1 attached) . All
materials, trash, rubble, etc. shall be removed from
site and disposed of by the contractor.
CONSTRUCT CONCRETE EXTENSION TO EXISTING LAUNCH RAMP
Construct concrete launch ramp extension to the
existing launch ramp (see Sheet 2 attached) . Form
and pour a six inch (611) concrete ramp using 6 x 6 x
6 gauge welded wire mat reinforcement. Grade beams
to have #4 reinforcing bars. Concrete to be five (5)
sack, 3000 PSI mix with 4" maximum slump. If
concrete is 4-1/2" thick or thicker at saw cut line
install cinch anchors and 1/2" x 12" x 3" L-bolts on
18" centers (see Sheet 3 attached) . Washouts or
voids within the new extension ramp area shall be
backfilled with select clay material and compacted to
95% proctor prior to placing concrete for ramp.
Surfaces of ramp shall receive a lateral tine finish.
All form materials shall be removed prior to
demolition of cofferdam.
CONSTRUCTION OF WALKWAYS
All existing walkways are to be removed (see Sheet 1
attached) . All existing pilings are to cut off 6"
below the bottom of the ramp and capped with concrete
(see Sheet 3 attached) . Sauna tubes will be used to
extend the piling to elevation 3.0' as referenced to
tide gauge at fuel dock of Beaumont Yacht Club. The
tubes shall be installed according to accepted
construction standards, which includes the concrete
through the welded wire reinforcement of the new slab
(see Sheet 2 attached) . Four (4) #4 reinforcing bars
shall be placed in each tube (see Sheet 4 attached) .
4 x 6 # 1 Fine treated (CCA-.4) lumber to be bolted
to sides o sauna tube with 5/8" galvanized bolts

(see Sheet 4 attached) . Bolts are to be countersunk
into the 4 x 6 so as not to protrude the finish
surface. Two (2) 2 x 6 # 1 pine treated (CCA-.4) and
one (1) 2 x 8 # 1 pine treated (CCA-.4) shall be used
to for the walk boards and be attached with
galvanized ring shank nails. Walk boards are to be
supported with 2 x 6 # 1 pine treated (CCA-.4) at 24"
on center (see sheet 4 attached) .
COFFERDAM REMOVAL
All material's used to construct the cofferdam shall
be removed from the slip following completion of the
ramp construction. Prior to the removal of the
cofferdam the representative of the Beaumont Yacht
Club shall inspect the work site. Disposal of the
earthen material used in cofferdam construction shall
be placed by the contractor in two areas designated
on the Beaumont Yacht Club property. The-designated
disposal area shall be selected by the representative
of the Beaumont Yacht Club.
CLEAN UP
Upon completion of the project the contractor shall
remove from the site and dispose of all materials,
waste, scraps, trash, etc. and prior to leaving the
site the contractor shall notify the representative
of the Beaumont Yacht Club for a final inspection.
GENERAL NOTES
1. All materials to be new.
2. Concrete to be 5-sack, 3000 PSI mix. 4" minimum
slump.
3. All bolts and nails to hot dipped galvanized.
4. All lumber to be # 1 pine treated (CCA-.4)
5. Contractor to verify all dimension and site
conditions.
6. Contractor and the representative of the Beaumont
Yacht Club shall verify channel depth elevations
along cofferdam prior to beginning work on cofferdam
and shall verify again after the removal of the
cofferdam materials.
