WHEREAS, the city allocated $87,761 .70 in the 1986 CDBG
Final Statement of Objectives and Projected Use of Funds for
grants to social service agencies that primarily serve low and
moderate income persons or families; and,
WHEREAS, agencies participating must be non-profit
corporations and show evidence that they can't get funding
elsewhere and have long-range plans to maintain their facilities
after they are rehabilitated; and,
WHEREAS, the CDBG Citizens Advisory Committee
recommended, after reviewing submitted proposals and making site
visits, that the following social service agencies be funded•,
Beaumont Chapter/American Red Cross $ 18,000
Beaumont Junior Forum 13,000
Family Services Association 5,000
Stewart' s Halfway House 11 ,900
YWCA 17,700
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the funding set out above as recommended by the CDBG
Advisory Committee be, and it is hereby, approved.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this
