WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont wishes to request the
legislature to reconsider its legislataive enactment and amend
Senate Bill 940 to provide that group homes are permitted uses in
all zones except single-family residential zones;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City of Beaumont hereby expresses its concern relating to
Senate Bill 940 and similar laws which limit city zoning control

matter of right, of land uses such as group homes which have an
impact on neighborhoods which is greater than traditional
single-family uses.
