WHEREAS, on April 28, 1986, bids were taken on twelve
(12) parcels of land which are no longer needed by the City of
Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, Eddie Ward, Jr . submitted a bid in the amount of
$3,500 on Parcel 1 which is Lot 3 and the south 15 feet of Lot 4,
Block 6 of Virginia Estates; and,
WHEREAS, G. J . Davis submitted a bid in the amount of
$3,000 for Parcel 3 which is Lot 136, Block 13 of the Herring
Addition; and,
WHEREAS, Daryl Eller a submitted bid in the amount of
$1 ,500 for Parcel 9 which is Lot 9, Block 1 of the University Place
Second Addition; and,
WHEREAS, Roy D. Ellis submitted a bid in the amount of
$2,000 for Parcel 10 which is Lot 10, Block 1 of the University
Place Second Addition; and,
WHEREAS, Roy D. Ellis submitted a bid in the amount of
$1,500 for Parcel 11 which is Lot 9, Block 2 of the University
Place Second Addition; and,
WHEREAS, Clarence Guidry, Sr. submitted a bid in the
amount of $1 ,000 for Parcel 13 which is 4488.7 square feet out of
Tract 13, Plat B-12, J . W . Bullock League; and,
WHEREAS, Daryl Eller submitted a bid in the amount of
$236 for Parcel 2 which is Tract 31, Plat F . D. Brown League; and,
WHEREAS, Leonard Malinowsky and Daryl Eller submitted
bids in the amounts of $250 and $830, respectively, for Parcel 4
which is Tract 19-A, Plat M . D. Brown League; and,
WHEREAS, Daryl Eller submitted a bid in the amount of
$430 for Parcel 5 which is 4675 square feet out of Lots 1, 2 and 3 ,
Block 2, J. D. Adams Addition; and,
WHEREAS, Leonard Malinowsky submitted a bid in the amount
of $1 , 200 for Parcel 8 which is Tract 44, Plat D-19, A. Williams
League; and,
WHEREAS, Leonard Malinowsky submitted a bid in the amount
of $350 for Parcel 12 which is Lot 10, Block 2, University Place
Second Addition; and,
WHEREAS, Leonard Malinowsky and Daryl Eller submitted
bids in the amounts of $1 , 100 and $835, respectively, for Parcel 14
which is 16,958 square feet out of the north portion of Tract 1 ,
Plat Q, D. Brown League; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids
received on Parcels 1 , 3 , 9, 10, 11, and 13 should be accepted by
the City of Beaumont and that the bids on Parcels 2, 4, 5 , 8, 12,
and 14 should be rejected by the City of Beaumont;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to accept
the bids on Parcels 1 , 3 , 9, 10, 11, and 13, and to reject the bids
on Parcels 2, 4, 5, 8, 12, and 14 for the sale of surplus property
by the City of Beaumont.
