WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Beaumont deems
it necessary that M. L. King, Jr. Pkwy/Spur 380, in the City of
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas be located, constructed, widened,
extended and maintained; and,
WHEREAS, said City Council has found that a public
necessity exists requiring the location, construction, widening,
extension and maintenance of said street on the hereinafter
described property; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to acquire
the hereinafter described interests in and to the hereinafter
described property for said location, construction, widening,
extension and maintenance of said street, and has found and
determined that said interests in and to the hereinafter described
land is suited for such purposes and that it is necessary to
acquire same for said purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont, through its duly
authorized representatives, has negotiated in good faith with the
owners of the hereinafter described land and has been unable to
agree with such owners of such property as to the fair market value
thereof and damages, if any,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Attorney, be and he is hereby authorized and directed
to file or cause to be filed against all owners of the following
parcel of land, and all claimants of any interest therein,
proceedings in eminent domain to acquire fee title for said
purposes, in and to the said parcel of land described in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, the parcel of land
being situated in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas .

BEING 0.1859 acres of land, more or less and being part of Lots 3 and
4, Block 34, of the Arlington Addition in the City of Beaumont, Jefferson
County, Texas, according to map or plat of said Addition recorded in
Volume 1, Page 70 of the Map or Plat Records of Jefferson County and
being the same property described in Deeds from J. Fiorenza, et al and
P. C. Bruno to Lucilie LeBlanc, dated March 7, 1966 and August 23, 1972,
recorded in Volumes 1450 and 1746, Pages 406 and 323, Deed Records of
Jefferson County, Texas, said 0.1859 acres of land, more or less, being
more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows :
COMMENCING at the Southwest corner of Lot 6, Block 35 of the said
ARLINGTON ADDITION, same being in the East right-of-way line of
Sabine Pass Avenue, Thence as follows:
North 3 degrees 14 minutes 43 seconds West along the East right-of-way
lineof Sabine Pass Avenue, a distance of 205.00 to a point in the
Southwest corner of said Lot 3, Block 34 of the Arlington Addition,
same being the Point of Beginning;
THENCE North 3 degrees 14 minutes 43 seconds West along the East
right-of-way line of Sabine Pass Avenue and the West line of said Lot
3, a distance of 36.32 feet to a point for corner in the South right-
of-way of Corley Street, same being the beginning of a 17 degrees
37 minutes 46 seconds curve to the left with a radius of 325.00 feet
and a central angle of 26 degrees 49 minutes 30.25 seconds;
THENCE in an Easterly direction along said curve to the left, same
being the South right-of-way line of Corley Street, a distance of
152.16 feet to a point for corner in the East property line of Lot
4, Block 34 of the Arlington Addition and being the end of said 17
degrees 37 minutes 46 seconds degree curve;
THENCE South 3 degrees 14 minutes 43 seconds East along the East
line of said Lots 4 and 3, a distance of 92.12 feet to a point for
the Southeast corner of Lot 3;
THENCE South 86 degrees 41 minutes 08 seconds West along the South
line of said Lot 3, a distance of 140.00 feet to the Point of Beginning
and containing 0.1859 acres of land, more or less.
