WHEREAS, bids were received for casualty insurance for
the City of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, Home Insurance Company of Illinois submitted a
bid for primary coverage with a $5, 000, 000 loss limit and a
$250,000 deductible for a total premium of $140,872; and,
WHEREAS, National Surety Corporation submitted a bid for
$45,000, 000 excess coverage over the $5,000,000 primary coverage
for a total premium of $59, 000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids of Home Insurance Company of Illinois and National
Surety Corporation as above-described be, and the same are hereby,
accepted and the City Manager is authorized to take all actions
necessary to acquire such insurance.
