WHEREAS, right-of-way purchased for Spur 380, Phases I
and II, was purchased in the name of the State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, in Phase III, the right-of-way will be purchased
in the name of the City of Beaumont and a portion of the property
acquired will be granted as an easement to Kansas City Southern
Railroad for railroad relocation; and,
WHEREAS, after the easements are granted, the City will
deed the property to the State subject to the easement and request
reimbursement; and,
WHEREAS, this process is necessary so as not to delay the
timely completion of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the purchase of the following parcel of land is hereby
approved:
Parcel 115: 8, 172 square feet out of the David
Brown League, Abstract 5 (whole
taking) .
Owners: Mr . and Mrs. Paul Prejean.
State' s Approved Value: $27,000.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby
authorized to execute easements and deeds as necessary to
accomplish the purposes set out herein.
