WHEREAS, the Firefighter ' s Union, Local 399, on September
25, 1985, requested binding arbitration on unresolved issues
concerning their labor agreement with the City of Beaumont for the
fiscal year 1986; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council joined in the arbitration by
resolution dated October 15, 1985 ; and,
WHEREAS, the union, by letter dated December 3 , 1985,
withdrew its request for arbitration; and,
WHEREAS, the City does not desire to pursue arbitration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the city hereby agrees with the union' s request to withdraw
from arbitration proceedings and authorizes its City Attorney to
take all steps necessary to withdraw from such proceedings .
