WHEREAS, on March 19 , 1985, Resolution 85-83 was passed
by the City Council of the City of Beaumont naming Karl
Nollenberger, City Manager; Hugh Earnest, Assistant City Manager;
and Myrtle Corgey , City Clerk , as those persons who are authorized
to sign checks, drafts, notes or orders of the City of Beaumont on
accounts at First City National Bank; and,
WHEREAS, facsimile signatures are used on checks drawn in
the name of the City of Beaumont;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT First City National Bank , Texas Commerce Bank , InterFirst
Bank , InterFirst West, First City National Bank - Gateway, First
City National Bank - Central, Lamar State Bank , Parkdale Bank ,
M-Bank , Allied Bank , and Beaumont Bank , banking associations
domiciled in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, are hereby
authorized and directed, without further inquiry , to honor as
genuine and authorized instruments of the city, any and all checks,
drafts or other orders drawn in the name of the city when bearing
the facsimile signature of any two ( 2) of the following:
Karl Nollenberger
Hugh Earnest
Myrtle Corgey
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city assumes full
responsibility for any and all payments made by the Banks in

reliance upon instruments bearing the facsimile signature of any
two ( 2 ) of the person named in this resolution regardless of who
placed it on the instrument or how it was placed on the
instrument.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the foregoing is not
intended to limit any authority or instructions previously given to
the Bank by the city to honor or recognize handwritten signatures,
but the foregoing does supercede any authority previously given to
the Bank by the city to honor or recognize facsimile signatures.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the city is
hereby authorized and directed to deliver and to certify to the
Bank specimens of the facsimile signatures of the above-named
persons.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the authority given to the
above-named persons shall remain irrevocable so far as the Bank is
concerned unless and until the Bank is notified in writing of the
revocation of such authority and has, in writing, acknowledged
receipt of such notification.
