Ae Mayor - 7. March 29, 1985 Council Letter 389 Honorable Mayor and Members of City Council Subject: A Resolution on Intent of Council Concerning 1986 Property Tax Rate. The City Council discussed "at our meeting March 28, the desirability of passing a resolution concerning the property tax rate of 1986. The financial plan for the City of Beaumont ,adopted by the Council at the March 26 meeting included a provision to assure the citizens that the property tax rate for 1986 fiscal year would be the origin- ally proposed 81¢ per $100. of assessed evaluation. The increase from 78¢ to 81¢ is to reflect the increase debt service cost for the bond issues for street and drainage as approved by the voters in the 1980 and 1983 elections. The resolution on the Council agenda would state City Council 's intention to let a tax levy not greater than 81¢ per $100 of assessed evalution for the upcoming fiscal year. The budget submittal which will be presented to the City Council will be based upon that direction. It is recommended that City Council approve this resolution. 42j- CY, 0, Karl N 1c:nbir gu-r City Manager cc: Betty Dunkerly Kirby Richard, Budget & Research !Myrtle Corgey, City Clerk LJ W/S March 29, 1985 Council Letter 394 Honorable Mayor and Members of City Council Subject: Discussion of Delinquent Taxes We have invited the County Tax Assessor/Collector, Mr. Nick Lampson to the Work Session on April 2nd.
