WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Beaumont deems
it necessary that Crockett, Liberty, and Laurel Streets in the City
of Beaumont, Jefferson County , Texas be located, constructed,
widened, extended and maintained; and,
WHEREAS, said City Council has found that a public
necessity exists requiring the location, construction, widening,
extension and maintenance of said street on the hereinafter
described property; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to acquire
the hereinafter described interests in and to the hereinafter
described property for said location, construction, widening,
extension and maintenance of said street, and has found and
determined that said interests in and to the hereinafter described
land is suited for such purposes and that it is necessary to
acquire same for said purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont, through its duly
authorized representatives, has negotiated in good faith with the
owners of the hereinafter described land and has been unable to
agree with such owners of such property as to the fair market value
thereof and damages, if any ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT :
THAT the City Attorney , be and he is hereby authorized and directed
to file or cause to be filed against all owners of the following
parcel of land, and all claimants of any interest therein,
proceedings in eminent domain to acquire fee title for said
purposes, in and to the said parcel of land described in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, the parcel of land
being situated in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas:

Suggested Description:
"A 2, 380 .67 square foot tract of land being a portion of that part
of Lots 90 and 91, 'Block 15 of the Original Townsite of Beaumont,
in the Noah Tevis Survey, Ab. 52 , Jefferson County, Texas, as
described in a deed recorded in Volume 2071 , Page 86 of the deed
records of said county and state, and being- more particularly
desz,cribed by metes and bounds as follows, to wit;
For the PLACE OF BEGINNING, the intersection of the Southeasterly
line of the existing Crockett St. Right-of-Way, (61 .11 ft. wide) ,
with the Northeasterly line of Pearl St. Right-of-Way (61.11 feet
wide) , said point alsi being the most Westerly corner of Lot 90 ,
Block 15 of the aforementioned subdivision;
Thence North 49'31130" East along said Southeasterly line of
Crockett St. and the Northwesterly line of said Block 15, 120 .00
feet to a point for corner, being the most Northerly corner of Lot
91 of said Block 15 ;
Thence South 40028115" East along the common line between Lots 91
and. 92 of said Block 15, 18 . 90 feet to an iron rod set for corner
marking the new Southeasterly line of a proposed 80. 00 foot
Right-of-Way on Crockett St. ;
Thence South 49031 ' 30" West along said proposed Right-of-Way line,
104 . 98 feet to an iron pin set for corner;
Thence South 04034114" West, 21.23 feet to an iron pin set for
corner in the Northeasterly line of Pearl St.and the Southwesterly
lline of said Lot 90 ;
Thence North 40028115" West along said lot line of Lot 90 , 33 . 90
feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING of the herein described tract of
land, containing 2 , 380 . 67 square feet, more or less. "
