WHEREAS, agreements have been negotiated for the
purchase of three parcels of right-of-way needed for the Dowlen
Road Extension Project for their appraised value;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the purchase of the following parcels are hereby authorized:
Parcel 5 : 0 .115 of an acre in the Thurlow Court
Owners: Samuel H. Marks and wife, Alice
($3,780 .55)
Parcel 6 : 0 .064 of an acre in the Thurlow Court
Owners: Peer Brems and wife, Elizabeth
( $1,811.55)
Parcel 10-A: 0 .085 of an acre in the Charles
Williams League
Owner: Laurali L. Lucas
($2,962.40)
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he
is hereby, authorized to execute an agreement for the exchange of
property for the Dowlen Road Extension Project as depicted on the
metes and bounds description attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and
made a part hereof for all purposes, and that the City Manager be,
and he is hereby, authorized to execute all instruments required
to conclude the transactions contemplated in said agreement.

That certain 0.203 acre tract of land described as being out of Lot 36 and Lot 37 of
Thurlow Court, a subdivision within the Charles Williams League, as recorded in Vol-
ume 5, Page Ill of the Map Records of Jefferson County, Texas; said 0.203 acre tract
being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a three-fourths (3/4) inch pipe found for the northwest corner
of said Lot 36 and the southwest corner of Lot 35 of said Thurlow Court;
said three-fourths (3/4) inch pipe also being on the present easterly right-
of-way line of "V" Street ; said three-fourths (3/4) inch pipe also being
the northwest corner of the said 0.203 acre tract;
THENCE South 88° 56' 30" East along the northerly line of said Lot 36, and the
southerly line of said Lot 35, a distance of 30.37 feet to an iron rod set
on the proposed easterly right-of-way line of Dowlen Road; said iron rod
also being on the northeast corner of the said 0.203 acre tract;
THENCE South 060 44' 23" East along the said proposed easterly right-of-way
line of Dowlen Road, a distance of 175.60 feet to an iron rod set for a Point
of Curvature in the said proposed easterly right-of-way line of Dowlen Road;
THENCE South 09° 54' 40" East along the said proposed easterly right-of-way
line of Dowlen Road, a distance of 26.36 feet to an iron rod set on the south-
erly line of said Lot 37; said iron rod also being the southeast corner of
the said 0.203 acre tract;

THENCE North 880 56' 30" West along the southerly line of said Lot 37, a
distance of 59.27 feet to a one and one-fourth (1 1/4) inch pinched pipe
found for the southeast corner of said Lot 37; said one and one-fourth
inch pinched pipe also being the southeast corner of the said 0.203 acre
tract;
THENCE North 010 04' 38" East along the westerly line of said Lot 37 and
the said present easterly right-of-way line of "V" Street, a distance of
99.97 feet to a three-fourths inch pipe found for the northwest corner of
said Lot 37 and the southwest corner of said Lot 36;
THENCE North 010 04129" East along the westerly line of said Lot 36 and
the said present easterly right-of-way line of "V" Street, a distance of
99.89 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING, and containing 0.203 acres of land.
