ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN
STRUCTURES TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES AND
ORDERING THEIR DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR A
PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the
buildings located at:
1. 5060 Chambers 14. 2405 Primrose (Garage)
2. 4455 Cleveland 15. 1027 Prince
3. 605 Delaware 16. 1035 Prince (Main Structure)
4. 3516 Edmonds 17. 3673 St. James
5. 3230 Highland 18. 2019 South
6. 3835 Highland 19. 7585 Tram
7. 3980 Highland 20. 3105 Washington Blvd
8. 5475 Hwy 105 (Shed) 21. 4445 Cleveland
9. 1883 Liberty 22. 4575 Hartel
10. 1883 Liberty (Garage Apartment in Rear) 23. 2250 Laurel
11. 2198 Liberty 24. 2278 Liberty
12. 2268 Liberty 25. 1035 Prince (Rear Apartment)
13. 2350 S. 9th
to be public nuisances in that said buildings violate Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason of age or
dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires that would endanger persons or
property.
Section 2.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within thirty (30) days
of the effective date of this ordinance:
1. 3105 Washington Blvd. 9. 2198 Liberty
2. 4455 Cleveland 10. 2268 Liberty
3. 605 Delaware 11. 2405 Primrose (Garage)
4. 3516 Edmonds 12. 1027 Prince
5. 3230 Highland 13. 1035 Prince (Main Structure)
6. 3835 Highland 14. 3673 St. James
7. 3980 Highland 15. 2019 South
8. 5475 Hwy 105 (Shed) 16. 7585 Tram
Section 3.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section
103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of
the following described buildings either demolish, repair or initiate a work program for
repair of said structure within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this ordinance:
17. 4445 Cleveland 22. 2278 Liberty
18. 4575 Hartel 23. 1035 Prince (Rear Apartment)
19. 2250 Laurel 24. 5060 Chambers
20. 1883 Liberty 25. 2350 S. 9th
21. 1883 Liberty (Garage Apartment in Rear)
Section 4.
The City Council hereby finds and declares the following structures to be a public
nuisance and authorizes that they be immediately demolished on account of the owners
thereof and such expense of demolition and removal shall be assessed as a special tax
against the properties upon which the building is situated:
26. 887 Arabella 28. 2612 Magnolia
27. 1450 Cedar 29. 1360 Pipkin
Section 5.
The following structures are hereby ordered to be demolished and removed by the
City of Beaumont on account of the owners thereof and such expense of demolition and
removal shall be assessed as a special tax against the properties upon which the buildings
are situated. The following structures were heretofore declared to be public nuisances in
violation of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City:

32. 4490 Ector 41. 5260 Roberts Road
33. 4490 Ector ((Garage) 42. 2655 Sycamore

37. 430 Fletcher 46. 899 Villiva Lane

Section 6.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the
application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are
declared to be severable.
Section 7.
That any person who violated any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
