WHEREAS, on Monday, August 24, 1998, bids were received for furnishing all
supervision, labor, materials, equipment and bonding for the construction of three
neighborhood fire stations to be located at 805 Woodrow Street, 1880 Major Drive, and
6375 Walden Road; and,
WHEREAS, Daniels Building & Construction submitted a bid in the amount of Two-
Million, One-Hundred Ninety-Nine Thousand and Two-Hundred ($2,199,200.00) Dollars;
and
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Daniels Building
& Construction should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Daniels Building & Construction in the amount of Two-Million,
One-Hundred Ninety-Nine Thousand and Two-Hundred ($2,199,200.00) Dollars for
furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, supplies, equipment and bonding for the
construction of three neighborhood fire stations to be located at 805 Woodrow Street, 1880
Major Drive, and 6375 Walden Road should be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized to execute a contract
with Daniels Building & Construction in the amount of$2,199,200.00 for the project; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized to execute Change
Order No. 1 in the amount of$254,104.00to incorporatethe changes in scope of work into
the construction contract and to reduce the contract amount to $1,945,096.00.
