WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont has no objection to the disposal of surplus
property being a 52-acre site located in the C. Williams Survey, as described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, the land is no longer needed for the use of citizens as a road, nor does
it have a potential for park, conservation, recreation or similar purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Texas wishes to sell the property to the Jefferson County
Drainage District No. 6 as part of the drainage control system for the south Park area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to request the State Department
of Highways and Public Transportation to sell the property to the Jefferson County
Drainage District No. 6 as part of the drainage control system for the South Park area.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the day of
1997.
