WHEREAS, an agreement has been negotiated for the conveyance of a drainage
easement to Drainage District No. 6 to allow for the construction of a new drainage ditch
to be located adjacent to the LNVA Canal south of Cardinal Drive between Ditch No. 107
and Warren Street; and
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont owns land needed for the new drainage ditch as
described in the metes and bounds description attached as Exhibit "A", and Exhibit "B";
and
WHEREAS, the land described on Exhibit"A" and Exhibit"B" is needed by Jefferson
County Drainage District No. 6 to construct the new drainage ditch to be located adjacent
to the LNVA Canal south of Cardinal Drive between Ditch No. 107 and Warren Street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the conveyance of land as described in attached Exhibits "A" and "B" be and the
same is hereby approved:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to convey the land as described in attached Exhibits "A" and "B" to Jefferson
County Drainage District No. 6.

BEING a 1.322 acre tract of land out of Blocks 18 and 24 of the M. C. Cartwright Subdivision of the
South One-Half of the J. W. Bullock Survey, Abstract 7 as recorded in Volume 4, Page 194 of the Map
Records of Jefferson County, Texas, said 1.322 acre tract being the north 40 feet of that 3.306 acre tract
conveyed to City of Beaumont by deed recorded in Volume 1827, Page 232 of the Deed Records of
Jefferson County, Texas, said 1.322 acre tract being more particularly described by metes and bounds as
follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the centerline of a 30 feet wide street abandoned by the City of Beaumont by
Ordinance recorded in Volume 1149, Page 623 of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, said
point being the northwest corner of said City of Beaumont 3.306 acre tract, said point also being located
220.00 feet north and 15 feet west of the southwest corner of said Block 18;
THENCE NORTH 890 22' 50" EAST along the north line of the tract herein described and north line of
said City of Beaumont 3.306 acre tract, a distance of 1440.00 feet to a point for corner being in the east
line of Block 24 and the west right of way line of Warren Street.
THENCE SOUTH 000 35' 00 EAST along the west right of way line of Warren Street and the east line
of said Block 24, a distance of 40.00 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE SOUTH 890 22' 50" WEST along the south line of the tract herein described being 40.00 feet
from and parallel to the north line of said City of Beaumont 3.306 acre tract, a distance of 1440.00 feet to
a point for corner being in the centerline of said abandoned street right of way;
THENCE NORTH 000 35' 00 WEST along the centerline of said abandoned street right of way, a
distance of 40.00 feet PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing in area 1.322 acres, more or less;

SOUTH 890 22' 50" WEST, a distance of 397.66 feet to an angle point;
NORTH 760 56' 10" WEST,a distance of 180.78 feet to an angle point;
and NORTH 64° 56' 10" WEST,a distance of 186.03 feet to the southwest corner of the tract herein
described being in the west line of Block 12 and the east line of Block 6 of the said M. C. Cartwright
Subdivision, said point also being in the east line of said City of Beaumont 2.049 acre tract;
THENCE NORTH 000 18' 00" WEST along the said common Block line of said Blocks 12 and 6 and
along the west line of said City of Beaumont 2.049 acre tract, a distance of 44.27 feet to an iron rod set
for the northwest corner of said City of Beaumont 2.049 acre tract and northwest corner of the tract
herein described;
THENCE along the north line of the tract herein described and north line of said City of Beaumont 2.049
acre tract the following bearings and distances:
SOUTH 640 56' 10"EAST, a distance of 200.79 feet to an angle point;
SOUTH 760 56' 10" EAST, a distance of 171.78 feet to an angle point;
