WHEREAS, the City Council has been provided 1997 HUD Consolidated Grant
Program funds for budgeting; and,
WHEREAS, unspent funds from the Fiscal Year 1996 HUD Consolidated Grant
Program are available for allocation.
Section 1.
Now Therefore Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of Beaumont that the
budget for the 1997 HUD Consolidated Grant Program is hereby adopted as follows:

A - HOUSING
Housing Rehab $250,000
Site Acquisition & Development 150,000
Habitat for Humanity -Administration 40,000
B - CLEARANCE AND DEMOLITION
Residential 100,000
School sites 200,000
C - PUBLIC FACILITY & IMPROVEMENT
Pruitt Center 485,000
Chariton-Pollard Park 150,000
Melton YMCA Gymnasium 200,000
D - PUBLIC SERVICE 85,000
E - ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Small Business Revolving Loan Fund 159,000
Historic Preservation Loan Fund 20,000
BUILD, Inc. 24,000
Charlton-Pollard Economic Development 50,000
F - ADMINISTRATION 375,000
G - TOTAL CDBG 2,288,000
H - PROGRAM INCOME
Small Business Revolving Loan Fund 150,000

Section 2.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the established budget for Public Service
is hereby detailed as follows:
A - Midnight Basketball League $ 18,500
B - Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club 32,000
C - Southeast Texas Community Health Clinic 20,000
D - Southeast Texas Food Bank 7,000
E - South Park Neighborhood Association 4,000
F - SETLIFE, Inc. 3,500
and that the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute one (1) year
contracts with the above-listed organizations. Said Contracts containing the terms and
conditions of funding.
Section 3.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT funds received in excess of original
allocation from the Fiscal Year 1996 HUD Consolidated Grant Program (CDBG Portion)
which are available for allocation are hereby programmed as follows:
Public Facilities
Melton YMCA Maintenance and repairs $ 25,000
Melton YMCA Activity Center 100,000
Salvation Army Replace gym floor at the
Pennsylvania location 10,000
