WHEREAS, on December 16, 1997, the City Council of the City of Beaumont,
Texas, awarded a contract to Norman Highway Constructors, Inc., in the amount of
$1,324,455.93 for the Folsom Drive Pavement Widening Project; and
WHEREAS, during the course of the project, Change Order No. 1 was
approved by Council to replace all concrete sanitary sewer pipes under concrete pavement
with PVC pipes, increasing the contract amount by $7,500; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 is requested in the amount of ($3,566.79)
to adjust the estimated quantities to reflect the quantities actually used during the
performance of the project thus decreasing the final contract amount to $1,328,389.14 as
described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to execute Change Order No. 2
in the amount of ($3,566.79). The project, as stated above, be and the same is herein
accepted and the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to make final payment in
the amount of $138,372.15 to be paid to Norman Highway Constructors, Inc.
