ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN
STRUCTURES TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES AND
ORDERING THEIR DEMOLITION AND/OR REPAIR;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITYAND PROVIDING
FOR A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the
buildings located at:
680 Avenue E 3025 Crockett
10715 Black Lane 2790 Edmonds
3145 Christopher 170 Fletcher
5540 Bigner 1153 Gladys (Rear)
655 Blanchette 1157 Gladys (Rear)
695 Blanchette 1193 Gladys
1960 Brooklyn 3850 Johnstown
2180 Caldwell 1605 Leight
3076 Concord 5190 Tyrrell Park Road
3076 Concord (Garage)
each to be a public nuisance in that said buildings violate Chapter 14, Section 14-50
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or
by reason of age or dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires that would
endanger persons or property.
Section 2.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of
Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas
and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the
owner or owners of the following described buildings demolish and remove said
structures within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this ordinance:
680 Avenue E 3025 Crockett
10715 Black Lane 2790 Edmonds
3145 Christopher 170 Fletcher
5540 Bigner 1153 Gladys (Rear)
655 Blanchette 1157 Gladys (Rear)
695 Blanchette 1193 Gladys
1960 Brooklyn 3850 Johnstown
2180 Caldwell 1605 Leight
3076 Concord 5190 Tyrrell Park Road
3076 Concord (Garage)
Section 3.
The following structures are hereby ordered to be demolished and removed
by the City of Beaumont on account of the owners thereof and such expense of
demolition and removal shall be assessed as a special tax against the properties upon
which the buildings are situated. The following structures were heretofore declared
to be public nuisances in violation of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City:
2395 Avenue A 2037 Laurel
2286 Blanchette 3265 Roland Road
1458 Concord 3265 Roland Road (Shed)
2045 Dexter 2078 Tulane
1670 Doucette 3295 Westmoreland
1232 Euclid (Shed)
Section 4.
The owners of the structures listed below have executed Demolition Consent
Forms authorizing the City to demolish the structures. The structures meet the
criteria of a dangerous structure and have deteriorated such that they are no longer
suitable for repair. Therefore, the following structures are hereby authorized to be
demolished by the City.

Section 5.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance,
or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for
any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining
portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of
this ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 6.
That any person who violated any provision of this ordinance shall, upon
conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of
Beaumont, Texas.
