ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
CHAPTER 28 SECTION 28-7 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT TO DECREASE THE
TERM FOR NEW MEMBERS OF THE
TRANSIT ADVISORY COMMITTEE FROM
THREE YEARS TO TWO YEARS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
THAT Chapter 28 Section 28-7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 28-7. Transit advisory committee.
There is hereby established a transit advisory committee composed
of seven (7) members. The transit advisory committee shall be
charged with the duty and responsibility of acting in an advisory
capacity for the city council, city manager, and city staff
concerning transit system objectives and activities of the City
of Beaumont. The transit advisory committee shall include one (1)
or more members who represent physically handicapped individuals.
Upon the expiration of the term of service of each of the members,
new members of the transit advisory committee will be appointed by
the city council to serve for terms of two (2) years, and existing
members may be reappointed.
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the
application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason be
held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and
to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.

Section 3.
All ordinances or part of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of
the conflict only.
